MooseNet is an app where yo can have a look at packet traces done with tcpdump or wireshark.

MooseNet shows your Network Capture Files in the pcap and pcapng format. To see the packets decoded you need a subscriptions. Without subscriptions you only see basic informations
The subscription comes with a 1 month trial period. During the trial period you can cancel the subscriptions any time in your iTunes Account Settings.
After the trial period if you havent cancelled the subscription you will be charged.

The subscription is:

• Auto-renewable

• 1 Year (US $1.99) durations

• Your subscription will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase after the trial period and will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.


• Renewal price will be the same as the intial price (US $ 1.99) for 1 additional year.


• Current subscription may not be cancelled during the active subscription period; however, you can manage your subscription and/or turn off auto-renewal by visiting your iTunes Account Settings after purchase.



• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable

The file format supported at the moment are the pcap and the pcapng format.
The following protocols will be be decoded:

dvmrp
eigrp
icmp
igmp
dhcp
http (partially)
rip
sip (partially)
dns
ntp
ip
udp
stp
tcp (partially)
llc
cdp
ethernet
arp
ospf

The decoding of the protocols are done with the definition of the studies for the netpdl which describes the protocols in a xml format. so additionally protocols dont need code changes in the app but "only" new xml definitions.
